Posted in Uncategorized on September 4, 2009 by misterthisI’ve got some new stuff to post. First off is two new single covers for upcoming releases. The first is ‘She’s a Mod’, which is a song which Ray Columbus and the Invaders recorded in the 60′s and became a huge hit in New Zealand and Australia. The Mint Chicks re-recorded the song as a special charity single. My brother, Kody drew the character and I did the colour and the lettering and stuff.
Next is our new single proper, ‘Don’t Sell Your Brain Out, Baby’. Incidentally, I also animated a video for this song. It can be found here: http://www.themintchicks.com .
The next thing I have to show and tell is a piece of artwork I did for New Zealand’s presence at the upcoming CMJ festival. I used my special patented Octopus exploding out of a car motif.
Finally, I found this old poster on my hard drive. It’s from an old tour but I thought it might be cool to post it here

Posted in Uncategorized on July 2, 2009 by misterthisI thought I’d post some of the recent stuff I’ve done for the Mint Chicks, which is my band. First off is the cover for the new album “Screens”. The artwork for the Mint Chicks is mostly by hand. Almost every single thing I’ve done for the Mint Chicks over the last five years or so, including album, EP, and single artwork as well as poster designs and stuff like that, has a physical original. I use anything from marker pens, to watercolour, to indian ink, to duct tape to make the artwork for the Mint Chicks. The reason is mostly because when I started I didn’t like using photoshop. I’m much more into digital now but still prefer to finish something by hand.
Next is another image from the newest album.
I designed some t-shirts with my brother Kody recently. These are going to be on sale online at some point in the near future, if you came to the most recent Mint Chicks shows in New Zealand you might already have one of these.
